Wow amazing post. How do I rep people on this forum.

I don't think I can wait a year to wait for snow leopard + stability issues to calm down on it so the best option for me I think is to wait for back to school specials.

By that time I should have a nice amount of money saved up anyway.

    Thanks again

if there's one thing i can say i know, it's apple. mac user since '95 8)

EDIT: good idea, and also the fact that with snow leopard is [REDACTED]

EDIT 2: really should have done my research, take it for what it's worth, but here's the official word from apple:

Snow Leopard dramatically reduces the footprint of Mac OS X, making it even more efficient for users, and giving them back valuable hard drive space for their music and photos.
so there will probably be a marked improvement from 10.5 -> 10.6, but my predictions on the timeframe are pretty accurate
on this page though, they're talking about a "theoretical" 16 TB of RAM. AUFS? imagine running ableton+traktor 3+traktor pro+logic studio+pro tools+EVERYTHING ELSE ON YOUR HDD, and not even have a blink from your CPU. sick.

may be worth the wait :P
