I'd like to see something new come out of dubstep, the dubstep charts on BP are a snooze fest imo.
I hear an 8hz sinewave can make a whole room of dubstep producers simultaneously stroke their beards.

Even if they havnt got one.

You have to have faith in your music. If you don't, how do you expect your crowd to have faith in you?

The problem is - so many young/new DJ's only want to play what is current, and what is popular. If we all thought like this NOTHING new/exciting would become popular. As a DJ, you have to be a leader, and if YOU love Drumstep, then YOU have to drag your crowd along for the ride, kicking and screaming if necessary.

If a genre that you like is not as popular as you hope it is, don't post on a forum expecting things to change - post some fuckin' mixes of that genre and convince us that Drumstep IS the future. That way, when/if it does blow up - you'll be known as the Dj that brought it to the fore. You'll get credit for picking up on it early, and people WILL follow you.

You owe us a 1hr (minimum!) Drumstep mix.

[Personal note: I really like the synth programming/sounds that come out of Dubstep/Drumstep. My problem is:- Dubstep doesn't have enough snares - and Drumstep has TOO BLOODY MANY!!! I look forward to the next incarnation - Funkstep. Where PROPER breaks are used for the drums, and there are not ANY of those stupid drum fills/builds! ]

Personally, I don't like Drumstep much, it's all the annoying bits of Brostep combined with all the annoying bits of "nu-Dnb".

There's a surprise - they're from Bristol. We got the monopoly on drums n' funk down here!

koan sound are pretty dope. back in 08/09 they produced pretty filthy dubstep tunes and since then developed their style into the more funkier and slower side of bass music.
