or FLAC - which is a compressed .wav that useless lossless compression. A flac is kind of like a zip, you compress the file but dont actually lose any information, unlike mp3 where you lose information in the file compression process.

because the file size is still rather large and traktor doesnt support storing grid data in the file - instead it stores it in its database.

ah, makes sense. still seems like we're in search of that "perfect" filetype.

yep. 20 mb mp3 @ 320kps + over 200Mb as a FLAC. Unless you have a multi terabyte HD thats not exactly practical. I have used them tho and they sound fantastiche!

    +1 for .flac!!

Storage space is super cheap these days so its not much of an issue (for me).

Very interesting what Bento said about Traktor not storing grid data for them though. I have no clue what this means however.

wouldn't go lower than 192.. maybe delete some and try to get the jewels in a higher bitrate.

diskspace isn't the problem, but I wouldn't like to carry a harddisk around all the time.

got some flacs, but don't really use em. quite an issue for me is that most mp3players out there dont support flacs.. there aren't many stores around that sell much flacs, are there??
