I think I can say with confidence that it is not due to a bad USB cable. Mine is brand new and does fine on all the desktop pc's I have used it on, just not on my laptop..the one pc I want it to work on.

Then it could be the USB cable. Laptops and desktops distribute power differently.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

    Dvls,

The pinout is the same, there is no difference, except that some laptops cannot supply sufficient power as specified in the USB standard. They don't distribute it 'differently'.

mate, just try a different USB cable to see if it helps. If it doesn't, try powering the VCi from a socket in your house. All these have been mentioned before. If you don't want other peoples help, don't ask.

The fact that it is brand new makes no difference. The USB cables Vestax supply with the VCi's are low quality crap.

My point was that just because it works on a desktop does not mean that it will work reliably on a laptop. Meaning that a new, better cable might be needed on a laptop, even though it works fine on a desktop.

In the manual there are instructions for the kind of A/C adapter for this.
