THANKS SO MUCH all of you guys!!

Yea I will try to do it in AAC. Considering all iPods play AAC, and its pretty much a standard now for most players on smartphones, etc. I wouldn't mind using it. I'm not too worried about uploading it online, since I use Mixcloud, which allows me to timestamp my mixes. I was more thinking of people who are listening to my mixes on the bus or while they're working out, and who just wanted to skip a little ahead (because maybe they don't like a particular song). I'll let you guys know if it works!!

    Once again thanks so much.

    Who knows tho.
my point is that people who download your mix from soundcloud could have an indexed AAC file, instead of one long MP3 file. Like the OP said, then people can skip forward or backward (like a CD) from their iPhone/Android device.

I'm not sure MixCloud accepts AAC uploads. Anyway, it's a no-brainer to also make an MP3 file, I'm using 320k files for Mixcloud, suspect they stream 128k but it does not hurt to always try to upload best quality.

BTW the new Fission 2 up at the Mac App store could do AAC indexing!

I think he speaks of both :-). Soundcloud to download mixes (AAC is fine), Mixcloud to share mixes via Mixcloud (not 100% sure it accepts AAC.) But Mixcloud has its own UI to set the track info on the mix, anyway.

Hey guys. Little update. I wasn't able to use the original method posted by loverocket because mountain lion doesn't support it. BUT I was able to purchase an app on the mac app store called "audiobook builder" for $5 and it does it beautifully well. it took me like 3 hours to figure out where the chapters were on itunes. So i thought it wasn't working for the longest time. But nonetheless I now have my mix in one AAC file. and it's under songs. When i play it on my iphone it plays normally without any gaps, but it allows me to skip to each song that I set up, as well it gives me the option to look at all the songs in my mix in order and allows me to select a section to go to (they're all labeled with the track names). All in all i'm pretty pleased. Now let's see if people will actually make use of it or not lol.
