    from engadget:

"If you were twiddling your thumbs waiting for Pioneer's XDJ-AERO to come out, you might want to head on over to iTunes or the Play store instead. Why? Because the mobile rekordbox companion app for iOS and Android has just been released. If you were thinking it'd just be a basic music management tool, then you'll be pleasantly surprised. Sure, you can import tracks, to then play on the XDJ-AERO (and other Pioneer DJ products that support WiFi), but you can also set up loop points, hot cues, analyze tracks, create playlists, and even experiment with ideas on the fly. This means you can get your tracks prepped up wherever you are, and turn up to the party good to go, be it on your own gear or a friends'. This is also what you'll need if you want to make use of the forthcoming controller's WiFi functionality, although it can also be used to connect with the desktop version of the program if you're already using it. The app is free, and available now, just head down to the source to line those beats up."

isnt it obvious to you guys why there is no hut cues, waveforms etc? (features of cdj 2000).

How many cdj 2000 do you think pio would sell if much cheaper gear would do the same job as them except playing cds?

if it was obvious there are no hot cues then I wouldn't be posting this thread.

Here's the data so far: The original post from Pioneer says no. DJworx and Engadget say yes. Pioneer XDJ-AERO Owner's Manual says nothing. That's why we are awaiting the real facts from the DJTT community.

Either I will make it to Sam Ash this week or someone knows someone who knows.

the way i see it, get used to mixing on the xdj-aero with no hotcues and no waveforms and you'll have no problem stepping up to the club with CDJ2Knexus with the same thumb drives

its like practicing soccer with no shoes
    Setup:

    Traktor Pro 2 / S2 MK2 / X1 MK2 / Audio6 / Pioneer HDJ2000 / Westone UM3X / rMBP 13 inch 2014 (2.8 GHz) / Focal Alpha 50

Tbh this is exactly what i've decided to do this week. I held off over a month umming and ahhing as to if I was going to go with the AERO or another setup, and the deal stopper for me was the lack of hotcues as I use them a great deal with my S4 setup for lots of reasons.

But I really wanted to get used to Recordbox as I was hoping to eventually have a Nexus setup maybe this time next year, and really liekd the other features of the Aero. So I thought, going back to basics might not be a bad thing and learn to be creative with much less. I DJ'd for over a decade without hotcues or software, so shouldn't be too bad a deal.

It's day two for me and the AERO and I've just cleared out all my iphone to start loading in tracks.

Think this will either be a really interesting new step, or I've just made a very huge expensive mistake. Should probably know in a day or two

but yeh - I think Pioneer haven't helped themselves with this confusion over no hotcues for the AERO but hotcues in the mobile APP for 2000 (and then the Nexus they announced later on). Took me ages to try and finally figure out they weren't a feature on the AERO
