Oh oh, very nice, I like I wonder what you'll map to the 4 small buttons next to the pitch faders, my guess would be deck select and/or fader fx.

perhaps I posted something stupid - but I feel a little ignored ;-)
Can somebody give some advice on using the VCI-300 with Traktor 1.1.2? I would especially like to be able to use the jog wheels and the cue1/out1, cue2/out2 etc. buttons...

    ooooh yes!
made my thoughts about a decent 4-deck mapping recently, but i didn't come up with a really good solution (at least not with incorporating other things like fx, etc)... i'm very thrilled to see your implementation bento!

haha, sry hmp, normally our users don't get ignored - but i guess in this thread everyone is so excited that nobody read your question

besides - there are plenty of posts in the forum about this topic...
but i'm gonna try to reply anyways:

if your jogs and pitch fader won't work then you'll need the mini.translator (search the DJTT blog, there's a post from ean about it - including instructions on how to use it), with that your jogs will be working. or alternatively you could upgrade traktor pro to the newest version, with that you won't need mini.translator.

to get the leds to work you have to mark the vci-300 for output in traktor settings.

as far as i know nobody mapped the cue-points so they work like in itch - so you can't set any cues "on the fly". but the best mappings so far are sosiks and claudeks, but as you can see from this thread i'd highly recommend you to wait for the official DJTT mapping which will fit all our needs and will do even much more

Actually i kinda like those pitch jump buttons personally, however i am going to add extra functionality so you can hold a shift key and jump by a tone - without the shift button you will jump by a semi-tone (or maybe vice versa, yet to decide which has the better feel)

That will enable pitch jumping techniques which i am sure you guys will find useful for both controllerism and general mixing purposes.

However if you guys dont like the pitch shifting thing then i could can that and throw in some different functionality on those buttons.

please don't dump the idea, i love it!

actually i tried to do the same, but i tried it with a knob controlling the pitch... i never quite succeeded though, as i didn't know how much exactly to turn it to get one semitone or one tone, so i always ended up somewhere between two semitones, which sounded just plain awefully when mixed into another track...

how much do you turn the knob in order to get one semitone up or down?

Hello Morbido - thanks for your reply! well I guess we are all waiting for the "official" djtt release :-))
I was just wondering if i was doing something wrong because I actually am using the latest version of TPro, with the 300 configured as in an output device, so I figured it should be working without the mini.translator (at least this is what has been proposed in other forums...)
so I'll just hang in there and wait for wonderful things to come :-))

well, it actually should work without mini.translator then...
you can test the midi mapping a bit, just go to midi preferences and look for the corresponding command (e.g. pitch bend) and then click learn and move the jog... or just try to assign any command to the jog - then you'll see if traktor pro recognizes your 300...

i'm pretty sure the mappings of sosik and claudek work, as i tested them myself (a long time ago) and they worked and i pointed several other vci-300 users at them and it worked for them too (and i know both mappings have led output available)... very strange...

you could try to clear your midi commands and just add the "cdj jog" command and assign it to your jogs... you'll then see if it works at all!

what the...? why on earth is it such a strange number? now that explains why i didn't get it right, i always thought a tone has to be a full number (like 6%)...
