I agree with smittten. Also, there are 7 djtt mappings and 5 users mappings for the mfpro on this site. If you want something specific its up to you to create one that suits all of your needs. There's a few users on here who are very good at helping people with that.

The MF can be mapped the same as every other generic MIDI controller out there, regardless of whether DJTT still sell them or not. So yeah, they'll be fine as long as MIDI's still around. And it's only been about for 30 years or so.

    Hey Gapout,

When you say you haven't receive a response from anyone at DJTT, have you ever filled out a support ticket?

    www.djtechtools.com/support

That's always the fastest way to get a response from us.

So looking at your thread, it appears your biggest complaint is us not releasing enough mappings? I agree that it would be awesome if we could continue to release mappings continually for every product at all times. Our mapping expert, Chris (flashflooder), is great at what he does. Unfortunately he is only one person and each mapping takes many, many, many, many hours to get right.

It's not realistic for us to keep releasing mappings for every product, but we would like to empower the community to be able to create their own. This is why we created maps.djtechtools.com to open it up to anyone who wants to create mappings. We realize that not that many people truly understand how to map controllers in Traktor, and will be releasing some tutorial mapping articles in the near future.

How many people on these forums have actually bought something from DJTT?

Out of the people that have how many of you bought the product just for the hardware?

How many of you have purchased hardware because of the mapping provided.

How many of you feel that had the mapping not existed would they have still bought the same controller?

Reason i am asking these questions is that I feel that i have been slightly ripped off here.

I purchased a MFPro over a year ago and the main enticement was the glorious mapping that DJTT provided...had the mapping not existed...i probably would not have shelled out 500 dollars to get this 16 button box with 2 faders and 1 knob.

It is only 1 year later and it seems that they have just completely forgotten about the mf classic and pros and concentrated on the MF3d...and with another "NEW" midi fighter on the way i feel that the same thing is going to happen with the 3D.

Now as a "Hardware" manufacturer, you would think if they advertise their product to work with a specific type of software that they would keep supporting the software...it has been like 1 year and they have already stopped any type of support on their older models...this to me is really bad business practice...I mean if Pioneer made a new CDJ/DJM line every year and then stopped supporting their existing lines...they would not be the power house they are today.

IMO the MF Classic and PRO series are crazy expensive for what you are getting out of them from a hardware perspective...i mean really 16 buttons 2 faders and 1 knob for that much money? There are thousands of better midi controllers for that price point, and they work exactly as advertise and a lot of the companies make additional mappings when software changes.

The biggest enticement that i feel a lot of us have was the mapping that was made for the Midi fighter. DJTT even used the mappings as one of their biggest selling points.

I am not interested in a whole new mapping or even some crazy custom mappings...im just saying support your existing mappings.

Looking at the VCI400 EGE...a friend of mine bought his off DJTT because of the video that showed a demo of Ean on it.

To this day it is still not useable for gigging...and had to resort to the normal mapping provided by VESTEX.

So yes he did get ripped off...because he had to shell out a shit ton of extra money because the VCI400 EGE was suppose to be a power house compared to the VCI400 Standard edition which he could have gone and picked up at a local Music store.

Even the new update for the VCI400 isnt that much better off than the original mapping.

Now as a company who is basing their product as a better product than the original...they should be able to ensure that the product works as advertised.

If you take a look on the Midifighter Thread...you will see hundreds of posts from users who are wondering about updated mappings.

A lot of Us DJs are not computer programmers...we dont speak the language and we dont understand it...yes we could spend weeks reading the book and trying to figure it out...but coming from a traditional DJing background, its not so simple to do.

Any hardware/software provider is always updating creating updates to patch bugs...and firmware revisions to enhance their already solid product...these are the tell tail signs of good support based companies...Apple is a prime example.

Same with Native Instruments...they are continually setting the bar higher for all of us...then they leave it up to us wether we want to update or roll back to the previous version.

There are hundreds of un-answered threads on the midi fighter board of people asking what is going on whats the status on updates that have all gone unheard.

I am just voicing what other people are saying and putting it right up front so everyone can see.

Owner of a VCI400ege here. I have gigged out with it multiple times running traktor 2.5/2.6 with the mapping djtt provides(Which was also updated recently showing continuous support) No problems whatsoever. Buying something expensive just on the premise of a single youtube video is wrong. Its easy to quickly blame the hardware when most of the time its user fault.

I bought my S2 from here. Came with Chroma Caps, Audio cables, Mappings, and sound pack. I mostly did it to support the site. I love this community and what the DJTT team are all about. Going to order me a backpack from here too.

i'm also a vci-400 ege owner and i haven't had any noticeable issues with it using the standard djtt mapping or the flashflooder edit, which i prefer. mine is working as advertised.
