I should clarify. Although VDJ has more features, I personally feel that some in Traktor (effects especially) are more developed and sound better. I meant "developed" in the sense of feeling more refined.
Then again, this is all personal opinion. Maybe I feel this way because, although I use VDJ 30-40 hours a week, I've still been using Traktor for much longer and it's what I learned to mix in.

Isn't VDJ a VST host? You could just use the Traktor VST in VDJ to get the same effects.

Nothing wrong with VDJ. I started on it back when it was beta in like 01. Dj's would give VDJ users crap because back then there was no midi controller. all you had was your mouse and a terrible keyboard mapping. So they were like wth is he checking his email or something lol. but times have changed. People that know understand VDJ is pretty powerful. It can support VST's was one of the first to do video. the effects are pretty good. the program is stable as well havn't really had it crash. but sadly with all this good stuff that Taboo is still there hence why most VDJ users move to Traktor and they would prob switch to serato if it wasn't hardware locked but yea like other guy said. it's not the software that make bad mixes its the dj.

Wouldn't say it's a bad a program, I think it comes down to personal preference. You use whatever you tool you use to get the job done. Mind you, it would be a much better program if it didn't have the awful siren effect...all those mouse jockeys and noobs wouldn't know what to do with themselves if that was the case...

Nonsense, VDJ has VST support so the effects are infinitely better than Traktor's ;P

lol true there are some great vst's around and "traktor's 12" or you can do some cunning audio+midi routing and just use traktor itself for fx to any other dj app

Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback, I appreciate it! Ive use Traktor Several times and I dont mind it at all. I have it on my Laptop as well as VDJ, I just dont know how to map it to my Controller(DJ TECH 4MIX).

I understand yes VDJ does look armature but you can change the skins, which I dont have. Im surprised VDJ hasnt came out with a new version yet? hmmm.

In conclusion I am going to continue to use VDJ because it works with my controller, as for Traktor, I need to figure out how to map it. Honestly though, Id love to perform with Ableton and MIDI controllers.

    thanks, Casey
