Here is a quick one. Note that I've mapped pads for effect indicators for every EQ range.

i think i get a RMX 1000...however i have a X1 to play all things and im gonna get a F1 as well for sampling....for other normal effects i will use Traktors effects such as Flanger etc ...X1 have 3 knobs for them.....

i think the RMX 1000 effects are critical for my playing too...because i love long breaks and long build up and crank em to dance wild...

Can you explain a little what your doing? Like which knobs are assigned to what? Cool controller btw. What kind is it?

The RMX is just ridiculously fun to play on. The fat isolator knobs are sweet, the way Pioneer thought of to "escape" an effect when you're ready to listen to music again is incredibly intuitive (and you can do it in two different ways, two different directions each). Being able to apply effects to different parts of the spectrum easily (and again, intuitively) is a really nice feature. Traktor effects, on the other hand, are infinitely customizable, and you can play them with whatever interface you like, or roll your own. The combinations you can do in Traktor are incredibly powerful, and you can also be really subtle with them, which you simply can't do with the Pioneer. All the pio effects are sort of "in your face". However, you can change them on the Pio with some programming as I understand it but I have no clue how intuitive it is. I think the Pio also sends midi so if you wanted to, you could make it into a badass controller for Traktor effects. So I suppose the RMX has the edge over Traktor, and it could easily be combined with Traktor. The other downside of Traktor effects is that you have to spend hours mapping combos to really customize them well; the RMX is something you can just start hammering on.

I really can't justify adding a RMX to my setup at this time, but if I come into an extra $600 I'd consider it; they are just so damn fun to play.

I've always wondered about this and now that there 's a related thread about this I might as well share.

The RMX is really cool and an awesome product but it's too expensive for me. Especially since I feel like an overkill of effects such a turn off.

But instead we create an ableton live template/mapping (surely the ableton one will lack a bit in functionality but it could still be great.)

And no need to completely copy pioneer, we could give it our own twist.

I really like the idea but I lack the know how though. I really hate mapping and complicated effects chains in ableton. But we have a few mapping gurus that frequent the forum so...

a thing that i experience is...the usage of mapped thing and not mapped thing is different...i mean the usage of a FX Ready unit and a Mapped FX Midi controller....t feels like it there...no need to worrie about its working or not...loosing mappers...even for getting to use it without a mistake have to practice long or have to name the buttons which s rarely happen

only that the RMX is very very expensive...i also like the EFX 1000 also...i think selecting fx by turning the knob in DJM mixers is less likely to use than a effects that are in efx unt...cuz all effects are ready with separate buttons
