    I had a choice, 15" MBP or 15" rMBP

Went with the 15" MBP due to the lack of CD drive and the inability to upgrade anything inside.

The normal MBP has USB 3.0

Here's a question then, I'm still running on the USB 2.0 Kext fix.. How do i revert back to USB 3.0 now the problems been fixed?

    Equipment: 15" Macbook Pro (Mid 2012), Traktor Pro 2, Traktor Kontrol X1, Pioneer CDJ 1000 Mk2 x 2, Pioneer DJM 700, Sennheiser HD25 Mk2 headphones.

Well guys, thanks for all your feedback and comments. I think I will definitely go ahead and get the rMBP. I'm also going to bump up the speed to the 2.6GHz, and up the RAM to 16GB just to be on the safe side. I'm going to keep the HD to 256GB, as I use my external HD for many things anyway. Can't wait!

So as the resident Windows guy - I now have TWO MBP Retinas - identical machines. i7/8gb/256ssd. I bought one myself and then had to go buy another for the office. I'll have to run some tests and see what's what. Haven't done much with Traktor yet but I can tell you that I was running the Xone k2 audio interface at 3.3ms latency with about 35% load showing in the Traktor screen.

I have to attest to this. It is so hot but still functions well. This is what I love about Mac.

We have been using a MBPR with Traktor, an S4, and a Midi Fighter for a while now and havent had any issues.
