Hey Folks,
I was wondering who else here uses the Remote Zero...
I've attached my tsi for a Remote Zero SL, mark 1, for folks that are interested. This is for Traktor 1.1.1. I can upload the tsi I'm using for Traktor 1.2 tomorrow. A couple of general things:
1. I use the Remote Zero SL along with a Novation Nocturn. When you see anything routed through Channel 16 on my tsi, that's for the Nocturn.
2. The Remote Zero controls four decks, full EQ and faders, bass kill, filter off and on as well as loops, syncing, cue and play functions as well as effects on and off and pitch bending (nudging really when sync hasn't totally locked something in). I use the drum pads to jump ahead to cue points in my tracks. I use limited modifiers.
3. The Nocturn controls all the effects in slots 1 and 2. The crossfader isn't assigned, but I think I could make good use of modifiers to change it into a fader effects tool.
3. My next bit of homework is to use modifiers to program the drum pads to jump to hot cues. Right now, I've found jumping forward (while the track is playing) or jumping (or needle dropping to a cue point) before the track is playing is sufficient.
When I downloaded Traktor 1.2, I imported this map without any problem and had my controllers up and running again in 10 minutes. I have two keyboard shortcuts as well for browsing tracks and displaying the effects units / enlarging decks C & D.
Rene - You asked about modifying the led readouts on your Remote. I did all of this through the template editor I downloaded off of the Novation site. I could type all the names of my assigned controls and it exported it straight to the controller. I'm not sure if this can be done with the Mark II.
Automap has to be turned on for the Nocturn to work. I programmed a new template for the Remote so it operates as a straight midi controller and doesn't interact with Automap at all.
Let me know if you have any questions - And I hope someone can make good use of all this!
- Jones
