I finally got it. So far pretty nice, haven't had a chance to fully sit down to play with it.
Finally got it downloaded and installed. Opened it to check to see if it works but nothing else. Finally got my Live packs downloaded too. The Live Suite got hooked up.

Got it, haven't tried it yet.
I've never really liked the look of Ableton tbh, think I'll probably stick with Reason and Komplete.
Wouldn't have killed them to actually hire a UI designer so it didn't look like crap, although the same thing applies to pretty much every production suite out there :-\
I think Ableton's UI is a lot cleaner than most of the other DAWs. I don't need a mixer/compressor/plugin that looks like it's real life counterpart, just one that is easy to look and navigate for hours. The new skin does look a lot like a user made one that tried to port logic's color scheme for live 7, I'm back to "Light Gray".
Luckily, there are UI for pretty much anyone.
I accidentally dropped a 45 second clip of a hall and oates song and ran the audio to midi in harmonic mode and the results came out pretty accurate. Definitely a lot of usable midi if I were to want to remix "I cant go for that" My only gripe is that using an older macbook pro with only 2 gigs of ram on OSX 10.6.6 was close to maxing with the demo song. Shame on me for using a macbook from 2006.

Because the flat colors, solid lines and lack of shadows create less eye strain than say Logic or Pro Tools, with bevels, bubbles and shading. The idea behind the design was eye fatigue. Why do you need the DAW to "look" pretty? Oh well.. To each their own.
So far the downside is, Remote Scripts are broken for alot of devices until NI releases their beta mappings (ie: the MK2 for me )
