i know what i felt when i was playing on small house parties with my friends - it was TERRIBLE. i tried my best, but it was really bad. and few hours later, at home, i was full of self confidence - but when people filled dancefloor...i even had problems with beatmatching on MY OWN turntables. i guess, it's normal.

i will post how it was after the gig.

if you don't know the gear, take a look at pictures online and perhaps look at manuals to understand the differences.
That will help once you're in front of the gear, and will avoid any gear panic attacks.

    You seem ready, have fun!

Relax and enjoy it. Anxiety will hold you back and people around you will pick up on your nerves so don't let them own you.
I've always found 20 minutes with your own thoughts and meditation pre set helps. Sounds a bit hippyish yes, but it works.

The Evo 4 is just a standard 4 channel club mixer, you'll be fine with it Make sure when you first set up and check your levels you remember to disable the effects as sometimes whoever used the gear last will have left it on. Test each channel you'll be using thoroughly for distortion and to make sure all the pots/faders work; if there's a problem, use a different channel.

Apart from that, just relax. The crowd won't have a clue what you're doing either way, and neither will the management tbh. As long as the music doesn't stop completely for more than 10 seconds you'll be fine.

thanks bros. i feel much better right now. the only thing that REALLY scares me is fact, that i wont have visual waveforms. i know, some call it cheating, but who cares? cdj's have bpm counter, it alsco can be counted as a cheating. i goin to make some shopping on beatport today - new songs without waveforms...

Vinyl is a "waveform". I always crack up when people call digital djing cheating because supposedly you don't have the same visual feedback on vinyl, but you do! Looking at a record you can see the breaks, the various parts of a track, albeit not as precisely as with an actual waveform on traktor.

CDJ900 still have basic block waveforms so you still have visual guide

BUT GUYS! Do i need rekordbox to play from pendrive? i mean, do i need to install that on my PC or something? or can i just copy songs on pendrive and stick into the player? or maybe i should burn it in cd audio? what do you think?

    Not unless you want to.

I'd do this as well with 20 or 30 tracks across 2 CD's for piece of mind and additionally I'd burn the MP3's to 2 CD's as well so regardless of something failing you'll still have 100% of your set.

Theres Nothing worse than having the CDJ's freak out and freeze over a corrupt MP3 thats on your USB Stick or CD.

Yes. You should definitely analyze your music and export to USB with Rekordbox. It's free so you have no reason not to. Analyzed tracks will have accurate instant BPMs and instant waveforms, and you can also set cuepoints on each track. You'll also get a lot more music using MP3s on USB than you would with audio CDs.

Burn the MP3s (NOT audio CD!) to 2 CDs too as a backup.
