It came with 2.5 where NI made update to FX unit mappings. In earlier versions the FX units were divided in two pages where you could use individual paths to map group or advanced FX mode. I liked that better because it allowed more friendly mappings where you could use whet they called it "issue" to take advantage over effect LED output mappings. They also made instant effect or modifier condition to choose mode for command but in a bit more complex mappings that's quite pain to make a work around because Traktor got only two condition slots to play with for now... (However they seem not to be interested in adding more modifiers and slots these days).

New FX engine is still buggy. In previous versions I could simply set any of FX buttons on my BCD3000 and didn't have to worry about any pre-mapped smart button in various modifiers. That was the mapping I was working on for about two years (2.0-2.5) one day I imported that in 2.5 ma mapping and there it was... I needed that extra press for loading effect while switching unit mode which was pretty annoying for the time I spent to found out that they have added Store Preset command which actually saves snapshot and play effect on switching unit mode. Saved my day

Makes me consider to either buy 2 contours instead of the Reloop Jockey 3 Remix
Killer project mdc! Keep it up

Btw, are there any advantages or disadvantages to your contour mapping compared to the Jockey 3 Remix?
I got the feeling yours will have even more effects to play around with in the end...

The only downside should be not dual-coloured LED's, but that doesn't matter much But in my view, this mapping is gona be much more superior than the Jockey 3 Remix will ever be, first because, this guy already has made some serious shit + Contour has more inputs(ie. line faders) which he can use for more fx

Well, mdcdesign, I'm really looking forward to you releasing this mapping. It already looks really good.

I have had my contour for a while now, and only use it for browsing and loading to decks in Traktor, to be used with my 1210's in Scratch Pro. My DB4 usually takes care of all my fx needs.

But I'm thinking it would be good to utilise the Contour more, and your mapping could be just the thing. Looking forward to a release.

If your needing any help beta testing, give me a shout.

Cheers for all the support guys

I personally wouldn't recommend buying the Contours instead of the Jockey 3 Remix for any reasons other than the ones you would've bought the Contours instead of the original Jockey 3ME... they're very different controllers for very different purposes. The Jockey 3 Remix is a nice and compact all-in-one solution, whereas the Contours REQUIRE the use of an external mixer (or at least an additional MIDI mixer like the MM-1, or the M-Audio X-Session Pro).

If you regularly play in venues that have house mixers, then the Contours would probably be a better option. Also, if you're a 4-deck user, then again, the Contours would be a better option. If you primarily use 2 decks and want an all-in-one solution, go for the J3 Remix. It also has the better high-resolution jogwheels, which is always nice.

The main differences, as someone else stated, are the lack of tricolor LEDs, and the lack of dedicated buttons NEXT to the pads for each mode. With that said, my Contour mapping will actually offer better control over the sample decks, as you've got dedicated volume faders for each deck, mute buttons, and encoders for the per-slot Filters. It's not just sample triggering, it's basically rudimentary Remix deck control.

Just wondering, do you plan using the Pan knob in regular layer to map something else? Because really Pan, usually is useless, because with Contours you have use anyway a another mixer, which usually has Pan knob. So why not use it for something cool in normal mode?

I haven't thought about it tbh, any suggestions?

I DID have an idea when I woke up this morning about using the pads for a 3rd mode for live performance of sorts... I won't give away too much just yet, not sure if it's actually viable haha :P Should have a rough prototype video ready by this evening

Anyone with a Contour bored at the moment and fancy testing out the latest update to this mapping? Just added effects to the faders and fixed a few issues I noticed last time I played out

I'd be up for giving it a test if you send me the mapping
