I have to unplug everything because my MBP is my only computer and I use it for everything, school, work, hobbies, DJing. I don't mind that because everything is connected to my USB hub so it's only 1 cable (instead of like 7 or 8 that are plugged into the hub).

I don't really unplug anything unless I have to.

When I had only one computer, I unplugged a lot. Now, I really only do it when I'm moving things.

Except when I need to use it for something else, my MBP is constantly connected to power and my DDJ-SX, which is always connected to its power, headphones, and speakers.

My hackintosh is always conncted to my auido interface. My Maschine tends to live in a gear bag except when I'm using it, but that's actually because my cat really likes to steal the knobs to play with them and I've been too cheap/lazy to even see if they make decksavers for it. Plus, I like having an uncluttered desk, and the Maschine takes up a lot of space. I'm working on changing things so I'll never have to think about it again, but I've been really busy lately. I need to see if I can get a snare stand or something to hold it off to the side, but I'd settle for a decksaver to protect it from my cat.

My DJ and "production" (read: desktop, and everything it does) rigs are in different rooms. If I started incorporating Maschine into my performances the way I keep thinking about, I'd probably buy a second one.

Really, though, not unplugging things is a luxury afforded by owning 3 computers. When I finally finish migrating everything I used to use my MBP for to my thinkpad, the MBP may never move again unless I randomly start gigging.

I always unplug stuff since my dj desk is quite far from my usual work desk. If I ever get around to buy a decent/cheap second laptop I can use for anything then I might leave my current laptop on my dj desk. As of now, I don't really mind unplugging and plugging stuff.

actually i have it all attached through a powered HUB
so i pull that USB out of the laptop
Also i do turn off the power to the S4
no need to have it running,, and burn energy if nothing is goingto happen there for a few days
