DJ Tech happened to be the only stand where DJ Player could set this demo up. You should be able to do it with any class compliant device. But a USB mixer makes for a much neater solution.

I think this IS the future of DVS systems. All a turntablist needs is a tablet for selecting and loading tracks. Everything else can be prepared ahead of time on a laptop/full software version.

I'd love to see a DVS system that can run on a laptop, but have a separate display (on a small, discrete tablet) for browsing and loading tracks.

Waveforms are just not needed when performing - but they are great for preparation.

You're not going to see much uptake unless external storage becomes available. Very few DVS users will want to play regularly with a 32/64GB library.

32gb is a LOT of music. Even assuming a conservative 15mb per file (320kbps MP3, say... 6-7 minutes), and that's over 2,000 tracks.

I'd still want my laptop and external drives for storage. The tablet would just be used for browsing and loading.

2000 tracks is pretty small for a digital library. It'll be closer to 28GB space on a "32GB" device too.

2000 is still HUGE compared to what we used to take in our record bags.

You don't always need your entire library with you...

Why do you want your laptop and external drives then? If the tablet is just for browsing and loading you may as well just have a little MIDI controller hooked up to the laptop.
