A lot of the copyright stuff is their automatic algorithms, but people can also report your sounds on their own if they feel like being an asshat. I had a mix up for over a year and then it got taken down at one point because a record label apparently just signed up for being a nazi.
That being said, paid is priceless. More mixes to post up and seeing statistics. I get a kick out of seeing people around the world checking in on my mixes time to time.
I ran into more issues with the uploading thing BEFORE I paid for it as well, so keep that in mind too.
pro is the only way to go, if your going to post mixes, because they take up so much time
I honestly feel disgusted by people who don't have a pro SC account...it costs next to nothing for godsake, are you serious about your career or not!?

Except not everyone is doing this for a career, some are just doing it as a hobby. I certainly see the benefits for those that are professionals and..hell, I even signed up today just so I wouldn't disgust you, (Even though it's just a hobby and a way for me to share music) but I have lots of disposable income that I know many others here that aren't doing this professionally don't have the luxury of having.
I think keeping the soundcloud for production snippets and mixcloud for mixes makes more sense, but then again there are less people on mixcloud
