If it's anything like the rest of Aus (which I'm pretty confident it is) mixes really don't help at all. It's all networking and making the right friends. Most promoters won't even listen to mixes if they don't know who you are

It's all about who you know, personally I wouldnt get anyone to play down at our night off the back of a mix.

In the House/Techno scene, I'm guessing it's the same everywhere, it will be about who you know, getting in with the right people.

Doing a mix and playing in a club are completely different, handing out mixes is pointless.

Yeh there isn't really anywhere i've heard of in Perth where they don't just play cheesy Top 40 crap.
I'm a drum and bass and deep house dj myself, so pretty much 2 non existent scenes in Perth.
