Hey guys,
I know this is an old post. Well I opened up the controller today and found that there is plenty of space there. Unfortunately, the PCB is one solid block. It isn't modular like the VCI. The buttons are the same as the VCI (except cheaper switches are used... mine are faulty already). So I'm going to go on a small project to get new switches and resolder all the buttons again with proper switches.
I'm also probably going to extend out the controller with a small electronics enclosure. I don't use the kill buttons at all, so I'm going to take those inputs and wire it out to the second enclosure that will be bolted to this controller and put arcade buttons in. That should give me 6 arcade buttons. Or maybe I can do the same with the scratch button as well... hmm... can any of you guys think of other useless buttons on the controller that I might be able to use for cues?
I must also say, I loooove flick switches as modifiers. I have a denon hs5500 and i love using the flick switch to switch to browse mode. Such a satisfying feeling.. haha. Maybe thinking of replacing a button with one of these flick switches as well... decisions decisions... do I want 5 arcade buttons and a flick switch? Or 6 arecade buttons? 3 arcade buttons for each deck, a dedicated freeze button and a flick switch?
I'll post up a picture of the PCB tomorrow (worst design I've ever seen by the way).
