    Hi.

What about a cd recorder? I've got mine connected to my xone 62 and it sounds superb. If you want something more mobile then I would recommend the Roland R-05 digital recorder which I also own. The latter records in wav or mp3 and sounds very good although it lacks a bit of low end compared to analogue recordings

I use the ZOOM H6 to record my sets. I like it because I can hot swap between two DJ's and record atmospheric sound too like crowd noise and put a HPF on it.

Yeah... it might help with some of the confusion if OP states why he/she isn't recording right into traktor. Running Maschine and Traktor while recording shouldn't be an issue for stability at all. If OP has tried it and had problems, I don't know that I saw that mentioned.

Good advantage of field recorder especially good ones I've seen is you can plug into output of a mixer and use built in mic so you can record the set and crowd reaction.

Has anyone used the Reloop Tape USB DJ mixtape recording device. This maybe his answer?

Route an RCA Cable from the tape out (or equivalent) into a input on your soundcard, Then in the traktor settings set your input from your soundcard as as the recording input and then theres no need to add an extra gadget and you dont need to have ableton open. Once youve finished your set you can export the audio file into ableton and do with it as you please.

I actually use 4 decks in traktor, so I cannot record in a deck. Unless it would be possible to record in a different input on the traktor, that I am unaware of , it wont work.

the reloop thing actually sounds pretty cool. But recordint 2 signals - the mix AND the crowd sounds even better for live recordings.

I've used the Zoom H4n to record live sets off of a bands mixer with great results (never tried it with a dj set up, but can not see how it would be any different). As mentioned, it gives the extra element when you can later blend the crowd noise into the mix. I took the separate audio files into a DAW and made adjustments after.

The recording feature is different to a deck, ie you dont have to turn one of your decks into live input to record. The recording option is on the top right of the Screen and will look like a little tape. All you have to do is change the source it records from in the settings (by default its traktor master output, which if you're mixing externally will record nothing) and where you want to export the recording too.

Change the record input to " FX Send (Ext) " in the preferences and you are good to go with 4 decks.
