    Sorry about the picture quality, can't get the right picture size because the menu button seems to broken so I've used my phone instead... Why is everything broken?

    Sometimes where you attach the carts the tonearm cap is a little loose. Id try to gently turn the cart until it looks level

    Just tried that. It did feel a little loose and I wouldn't say the cart looked completely level either. I'll try it out in a minute. I've got a feeling it wasn't level anyway, as the needle was tilted towards the record a little when I just took the cart off.

    Just tried that. Seemed to make a significant change. The rattle was less frequent. Just tried increasing the weight at the end of the tone arm too, that seems to make a little difference too. But then seen as I ran the weight at the amount recommended for the cartridge before, would this not imply the cartridge needs more pressure to work properly and is therefore worn?

    Does that make a difference? If I simply playback vinyl I usually leaven them on...
