    well you can manipulate T92's so they never skip. they are actually really good. for example just touching it with two fingers at the side of the record(on or the side). I am not really a hand masher its more that my hands are slippery so to grip them I have to push harder. after you play 3 or 4 records it goes away. what I said earlier is what would happen if you try to force it. I tried a pair of st.150's at a coffee shop a few years ago and the platter never stopped. just so you know I spin with my middle finger and either finger next to it to touch the record and I never touch the side of the platter.

    hi ,i m the howner of 3 BST PR4,5 ,i've refourbe my two 1200 mk2 for and no regret ,hi torque is clearly comfortable

    A better turntable will not fix bad technique. Either you're not using a slipmat or you're really heavy handed. Period.

    what exactly is a BST PR4? is it a turntable?

    Thank you for reposting. The problem you complain about and then say is solvable is not a hardware problem.

    yah i decided to go with stanton str8.150's so this thread is useless. again I want a proper tone arm assembly for sound quality and stability and a nice motor that I can absolutely cue with. the pioneer plx 1000 did not have the features and the audio technica ATLP1240 is the same price as the Stanton str8.150. I picked the Stanton because its becoming a industry standard.
