LMAO @ Chewbacca! Yeah man. The world has been flooded with Deejays. It's changed the reality of the game in such a negative manner that it's scary to see what the future holds. Won't be long till everyone shows up at the club with a midi controller. Everyong will be rocking out to their own sets in their headphones and room will appear silent to onlookers. :P

For me personally as an 'old timer' I thought this year's BPM was the quietist I've attended. I went on Saturday so not sure how Sunday and Monday compared.

Load's of wannabes rocking out on the demo gear like they were playing to thousands - just horrified at what the future potentially holds.

Equipment wise I thought there were less stands and a on some stand's a lot of empty space - for example Allen and Heath only had two set-ups running.

It used to be a weekend I looked forward too but it could be now something I only go too if I'm in the market for new gear. Never thought I would say that!

I was on the PLAY@BPM stage at 12.45 for half hour, played a classic house set and got a load of great feedback from it - even Sam, the lad running the stage, said he enjoyed it and was going to be using some of my track selection in his own set later that night.

I then was DJing on the Gemini and KAM stage, used the new MDJ-1000s, which I thought were terrible, fair play to Gemini for trying to come back into the market but the 1000s just don't cut it.

I was on there for about an hour and played a similar set, mainly due to the response of the first set and it went down well and I was joined by a special guest:

Karlos is right though, the place is full of DJs thinking they're big time Charlie's - one guy in particular on the Pioneer stand was using one of the demo units, had a load of mates watching him, one filming and he was 'dropping' the likes of Uptown Funk and Clean Bandit and giving it the Jesus pose and everything.

I find it's best to just watch and laugh.

Saw JON1st and JBF, the latter who was joint winner of the DMC championship.
The vibe we got from a lot of people is that there was definitely something missing this year.

And I love your too dude ... but you already know that

Sorry guys, I posted that first post then went on holiday - I didn't mean to come across as harsh and all power to those of you that played at BPM although people do seem to agree that it is a bit of a waste of time playing but hey , not every time we play is awesome so yeah ... just do it, ignore my cynicism.

I didn't attend BPM this year - ironically because I was way to busy actually DJing, I didn't get the time.
I'm hoping to attend next year because... well I'll hopefully have a really good reason to be there (enough said, not hard to work out, check my sig).

This is exactly what I have been hearing as well.

To be honest there's never really anything to go for other than hooking up with folks - the gear is all what we know is out there. I think the people that get the most out of BPM are the mobile/wedding DJ types as there are always great deals to be had on lighting and such things.
