That sounds like too much work. Ill just simply route one channel (master) to one mixer channel and the second channel (monitor)to another channel on the house mixer and utilize split cue that way.

That only works if you have a mixer, if your in a bar with no mixer or at home, hence using own controller, you have to be a bit more creative. I was using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 for my setup, but adding something like this to the headphone out would suffice: Pro-Signal-Headphone-Volume-Controller
