I've been SO tempted to get a DDJ-SP1.
The lack of RGB's is one reason that I've got grabbed one.
But, it's missing a few key features (for me). If only Pio could combine a DDj-Sp1, and teh Zomo MC-1000... Or, if even Zomo could do it...

I just want the S9 pads and midi controls to be recognized by the new CDJs and next XDJs... Complete, minimal setup.

Touché.
But I'm still mad over my non-supported-anymore VCI-400. And the all patch/compatibility/bugs/crashes treads with computer-based DJing finally convinced me to go back to the old school way.
this would be amazing and it would have nothing to do with rekordbox DJ. If the S9 is MIDI mappable via a USB cable to other programs then it should act similar as the SP1 plugged into the NXS2 via a usb cable. Of course as of now I'm sure it doesn't work this way, it may need a FW update on both the mixer and the NXS2.
Maybe post this idea on pioneers forum where they actually view this and can answer
i started a discussion on the pioneer forum if anyone wants to jump on

Great, I started a quite similar discussion in the DJM section of Pioneer forum, Pulse weighed in.

Also talked about it the Pioneer France guys who loved the idea, as to their knowledge, it's totally doable and just a matter of firmware.
oh ok cool, reading it now

As far as I can see, they did issue a firmware patch but it's still not a 100% solution.
NI Z2 and Pioneer are both basically midi mixers that use internal mixing and depend on the use of computers in some form.

I thought that the 1.05 firmware fixed it...
