It'd make much more sense for them to put out an API that lets streaming services hook in to the Traktor browser.

I'd say if they do incorporate streaming of some kind, something like Beatport would be the choice, given how relatively close-knit both Native Instruments and Beatport have been over the years through things like having the Remix Decks for sale on there along with Stems.
Why would native Insturments try to be liker Serato? why would Serato try to be like Native Instruments? Lets think critically about the assumptions that fall behind these two companies. Dj software is homogenous, but the devil is in the detail between these two.
Serato is a more plug and play software. easy to learn in 30 minuets with a nice clean interface, like an Apple product.
Traktor is more indepth, and allows users to have more control with deeper midi mapping capabilities, cue points, loop jumping, etc. The development for the remix decks and stems was a natural progression of their software, further allowing their users to have greater control over the product. Similar to Linux.
Traktor is catered towards a different customer, a minority of potential customers in the pool of digital Djs. Having the streaming service would be a completely different strategy that would undermine their niche that they have carved out in their market.
However, a streaming service fits very well with Serato, as its more catered to the hip-hop and top 40 club Dj. plug and play, track A -> track B, quantity over quality.
So, i think its very unlikely that a streaming capability with be included, but as Happydan has mentioned:
makes a ton of sense. opening the API allows users to have even greater control of the product, where a user can create solutions specific to their own needs.

It's funny...the Traktor fanboys always say "look! Serato is kicking our ass in this and that!" and the Serato fanboys say "look! Traktor is so much more advanced and functional!"...lol. This generation will always have something to complain about. Honestly, who gives a shit. Y'all are so caught up with trying to have the latest and greatest (whether is be equipment, tracks, setup...) that you never really get a true opportunity to develop as a dj. Just appreciate the wonderful technology that is afforded to us in this day and age, and let evolution happen naturally.
i mean, i guess the same could be said about the old school dj's who complain about the younger dj's complaining..
but I'm just over here minding my own businesses and trying to contribute to a discussion instead of trying to discount it.

I think it would be cool if they did a live streaming for traktor djs. You could live stream you sets from the bedroom. Then you could make your own stations of dj you find live streaming. Then NI could have live events they stream with bigger names. That would be fun.
