Just hit the button 3 times? Bit of an inconvenience but hardly a "retarded design flaw"
Certainly less of a pain than loading hot cues on the CDJ2000mk1. :P

Works perfectly for me. Using 3 LCs.. 1 for each deck and a PL-1 for effects and also having access to a pitch fader and jog wheel when needed. Just going to remap deck D to have effects on it.
Oily you should just get three PL-1s or whatever and not worry about pages (They are a pain in the ass, trust me - much better to not have to do stupid midi layers)
Nothing else comes close to how awesome this setup will be so I guess I'm stuck waiting![]()
have editted:
You can't disable any layer. This means that unless you're using four track decks, AND you're only using one PL-1, you have to come up with a workaround. And even then, because of the firmware, no workaround can possibly get the hardware working as it's intended.
Simply put, they designed it so that you need to use a workaround if you want to buy more than one PL-1, or if you want ANY deck configuration that is not four track decks.
Hell, even if you just want to spin on two decks with two PL-1's, you have to come up with a workaround just so that you don't get totally fucked up by accidentally hitting the massive "DECK" button.

that's a workaround... And a somewhat time-consuming one... You have to go through and re midi-learn every single control THREE TIMES per PL-1. And you have to update all three of the pages every time you make any change to your mapping.
And that's for EACH PL-1 you have... Remapping a single control or adding a single modifier on a set of three PL-1's goes from three steps to TWELVE steps because of this flaw.
AND even of you're okay with hitting the deck button an extra three times in the middle of an important moment of a set if you accidentally press it, you STILL have to do this workaround if you want to map the massive deck button for anything.

Well, yeah. I'm ok with that. I always mapped my controllers from scratch anyway. *shrug*
I don't think it's a big problem for most people.

No, but... mapping it is now four times as time-consuming across the board. I map everything from scratch too, that's why I'm concerned. And I think this is going to be a big problem for people... This line is aimed at new DJs, who don't know much about mapping. Most of them are going to want to change at least SOMETHING, and just to change the simplest thing they have to understand how this whole stupid system works, which they won't.
Also, seriously, all Behringer has to do is pay someone to build a modifier into the driver and release an update to the firmware. I know ten different guys just myself that could knock that out in a weekend.
