A couple of Drum & Bass labels (Critical, BMTM) have noted that if their stuff gets flagged to contest it because they understand the importance of mixes to the culture, basically that they're cool with it being used in a mix since a lot people buying their tunes are doing so to mix them.

Yep, they know what it means to the scene!

You might have noticed that SoundCloud's new content ID system picks up registered tracks in some mixes and blocks the upload. We believe that DJs play an important role in keeping the music alive and that you have the right to use our tracks in a mix if you bought them, so please take this as our blanket permission to do just that. If Soundcloud blocks your mix due to any of our tracks please file a dispute and overturn the block, stating you have our permission. Feel free to point them in my direction if they need confirmation and please share this so other people know they don't have to scrap a whole mix due to 3 mins of audio.

Ive never had an issue with being flagged. Usually if youre flagged its by the artist or label themselves, or they have added the track to soundclouds database of tunes not to be uploaded. I dig soundcloud for this. It keeps other people from uploading music that is not their's.

Maybe you should post a new thread asking everyone here at DJTT to demo your friends new site and provide some feedback.

There is a lot of stuff that could be improved over Soundcloud. Like the Genre groups

Maybe we could help him make the best upload site out there.

Yeah. the intro hack on the mix compilation works great. I think it's to prevent what your stating.

So that people don't just upload a Swedish House Mafia track and say it's made by them.

My 1 hour mix kicked off with an old Jamiroquai track, from over 10 years ago, and that got flagged.
