    Default A couple things.

Actually funny that you mention having USB headphones.

I have a pair from online gaming, and I have Traktor Pro. I've been trying to decide what to get for a controller myself, though I've set a bit different price point. I don't have an audio interface as of yet either.

I was messing around in Traktor today to see if I could get my headphones to allow me to cue, and surprise surprise, I was able to.

This is how I was able to do it:

I have a pair of generic Logitech USB headphones. Nothing special, they don't even have the model number on them, and I have had them for a couple of years. They are one that has a microphone attached, but I don't think that's a big deal.

When you open Traktor go to:

    File ---> Audio Setup...
From there, go down to the "Output Routing" section on the left.

There is a section labeled "Output Monitor" which is what you want to set for your headphones.
-If you are able to set up your headphones, there should be 4 different options when you click the boxes under output monitor.
-For me it said "Speakers (2 Logitech US... blah blah)" which was in reference to my headphones.

In the section "Output Master" you want to choose the two options you do not have selected above, which would be the internal soundcard on your computer.

Hope that made some sense, but should allow you to use generic USB headphones to cue internally in Traktor without an audio interface. It also has made me able to set my price point on a controller a bit higher because I can wait on getting an audio interface (because I can get by with this for now).

Also for $200 on the dot, a viable solution for you could be the Hercules DJ Console Mk2.

I'd say if you are set on the $200 for a controller, this is probably your best option. But keep your eyes open. I believe that this also has a built in Audio Interface, so that's a plus as well.

Cheers and good luck on your hunt.

I have been making some electronic music with my MicroKorg, but I want to get into remixing/controllerism as quickly as possible.
DJing without a proper interface is like buying an XBox360 and not having a television.

Get an interface and save for a controller. You can do a LOT with a keyboard and mouse until you get a controller together.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.
