I tried iAtkos v7 and iDeneb (two different version). I think my laptop may be incompatible, full stop. I had a look though and online, lots of people with Dell Inspiron 1520 have managed it. So, it does appear to be compatible.
However, most of ones I read have a Core2Duo CPU in, but mine is one of the older ones (about 3/4 years old now) and has a 1.86GHz Celeron M CPU in it. Might be that, but I've already read about people succeeding with that CPU. Very confused about it and I gave up!
I got a desktop which I've installed Mac OSX86 on before, which has a bigger spec than my laptop, so hopefully that'll go smoother!

i think that's you're issue, the celeron M processor at 1.8Ghz, I don't think think it supports SSE3 which according to this list hackintosh needs:

in general that's not a very powerful processor, so don't be surprised if you don't get the best performance out of it.
We don't believe in the star system. We want the focus to be on the music. If we have to create an image, it must be an artificial image. That combination hides our physicality and also shows our view of the star system. It is not a compromise-daftpunk
