I can live without NMX recording if audio recording works well and is stable (I'm not crazy about being that drive-intensive, though), but they haven't fixed the broken tempo/key relationship that causes key lock to break at + or - 30%. Most DJs don't care about this, but in a sense I make my living from it, so it's a dealbreaker for me. I understand they are working on this, though, and I remain hopeful, especially as it looks as if the ergonomics on this version are hugely improved and it seems more practical for playing out.
My overall problem has been that NI has not fixed legacy bugs while adding new functionality and introducing new bugs. I love Traktor and I love the idea of V3+, but there's a huge gulf between the idea and the reality. I understand they rebuilt this from the ground up, and I'm hoping they optimized the code. I'll end up doing what I always do: lurk the Traktor forum and glean a consensus from the early adapters.
I'm annoyed at the pricing structure, though.![]()
The key/tempo stuff you talk about is because of the algorithm that is used, i wouldn't call that a bug as such(thats not so say its not bad functionality). The only way to fix this is to upgrade the algorithm used for time-stretching.
Why haven't they added Key names instead of percentages?! Damn! Get on it NI.
Number are just as good anyway if you ask me,s but if your key knowledge isn't the best then displaying the key would be kinda handy. If you think about it though, the Camelot mixing system also uses numbers which can help you to know what key you have pitched something into.
