Thanks for the feedback everyone! And to those of you who disagreed with me-- I want to extend my extra appreciation... I already understood the club owner's issue, but you guys helped me to really see it like him and really regret my decision. (No sarcasm; seriously, thank you)

For those of you who care, here's a few responses to some of the questions/comments:

You are DEAD-ON correct here. Unfortunately, Club-A wouldn't accommodate the band that was playing. We've already looked into it

It'd be naive of me to say I'm the only DJ in town... There's a few guys that are available and trying to get gigs at the various places. I mean, Bowling Green is over 50,000 people, and we're only an hour from Nashville, TN. However, I'm going to surrender my modesty for a moment to say that I'm likely the best in town at what I do. No way to be sure though.

I don't remember 100% how it went down, but I think you're pretty much spot on. I can only think of 2 staffers who have left that club on amicable terms.

I definitely let him know in advance (I still haven't done the show yet, but told him a while back), but I'm assuming you mean to be transparent about my actions? If so... Yeah, big lesson learned there.

    Thanks for everything guys!

Trance is:"By far the best form of music that exists. A recent study showed that if a population is divided into musical preference, those who claim a strong allegiance to trance have the highest average IQ. Trance is the music of the genius-generation."

I think there is a prime opportunity for you to put your money where your mouth is and also gain a bit of favour back with your original bar manager who you had the beef with.

Organise a DJ comp at his bar?
MBP, 15.4", Ableton Live 8 Suite, Novation Remote SL, Pioneer XDJ-RX, Traktor, VCI 100SE!
