I think this maybe why I would get this version, size and also the mappings, plus all the tech help, but still not sure.

    Thanks!

well personally i would go with buying a vci SE and 1 midifigter

comes out cheaper and you get double the buttons, unless you MUST have the arcade buttons where the arcade edition has them. It does cost u an extra USB port, but u can buy a good powered hub for cheap

I'm not sure I agree that the VCI option is necessarily more portable than the S4. With the VCI you still need an external soundcard, which also means extra cables, etc. (i have an SE + an audio 4). the S4 is just one unit.

As for the mappings + tech help, DJTT (at least EG) helped design the S4 and DJTT will be selling it-thus, im pretty sure you will get all kinds of support and help here. you wont need to d/l any mappings initially, b/c the S4 will come tightly integrated w/ its enclosed S4 version of Traktor.

Looking at portability this would be even heavier no?

it would take up more space, but it is rather small and really not heavy at all. and you would be saving about 100 or so dollars (i could be off by a bit.)

I messed around with a friends midifighter the other day and it seemed relatively light. all it is is 2 pieces of some plastic and a bunch of buttons if u think about it

I think u wont notice the weight diff

You just pretty much put the TS4 back at the top of my list. And I have to say it looks a lot more profesional than the arcade edition, tough I still think it's really cool.

i got my vci 100se 3 days ago, so im a little urked by this anouncement. The sample decks is something i really really want. Sampling is a little hard on the vci100se

but i figure ill keep what i have since it took me a million months to save up for it, and just try and become good on this

Good choice, and then upgrade when you're fed up with the VCI

When you put it like that, it kinda puts me off more. 100 dollars less in't really a lot considering it's an investment, and like you say, it's only a bunch of plastic buttons.

I think it's leaning towards the TS4 this christmas if DJTT will supply us with mappings or such, I hope I will be able to get it from here, or from the store in San Fran.

wonder if the vci100se would ever be compatible with the traktors4 software. Rebind some stuff to control sample decks
