    The VCI100SE is an amazing controller, the creativity done in the mapping and overlay by DJTT is off the scale.

    However, if I had no gear at all I would honestly save up that extra couple of hundred pounds and just go for the S4.

    It really is the most complete solution as it's the controller and the soundcard.

    Pair of KRKs and a set of headphones and you will have a mind blowing system, something you will be able to grow into for a very long time.

    I love the VCI-100SE with arcade buttons cause I have it... I like it too much to justify getting an S4.

    I really am more of a 2 deck, straight up mixing kind of guy and as much as I love the look of the S4 I can't really justify it... It wont make the tunes I play sound better...

    But if I had no equipment and was buying now... S4 all the way.

    @BigC
    I've looked at the Hercules, but I have enough spare cash from working 2 jobs + my student loan to buy something which is above the budget range, but at the same time, I'm not going to pay over the odds for a controller like the S4, which is overpriced in England compared to the VCI+Audio 2 DJ. If I could get it at a US price I would probably think about the S4 more seriously.

    However, your point about getting turntables and a DVS system is interesting, I had never really thought about it, so I dont even know how much it would set me back price-wise, so I'll have to research that some more

    @Max
    The only thing holding me back from the S4 really is the UK price. It's almost as expensive in GBP as it is in USD, which is ridiculous. I'd just feel cheated by buying it which ruins purchases for me, and since I will be spending a decent amount of money on this I want to enjoy it. I am going to look into how much it would cost to import one from the US. If it's a better price I will have to take a more serious look at it.

    Thanks again for all your input, it's been really helpful

    It depends what type of dj'ing your gonna do I suppose...

    The VCi100 Mk II has a much better layout than the mark I for 4 deck control and FX as well -
    The lack of aluminium is a shame but the guys on here who used it at the BPM show were impressed.

    If I was starting out its the controller I'd go for - at £399 it's a steal and the soundcard would be fine for home use / small parties - if not a Audio2 costs hardly anything.

    Hmm, I hadn't read the review from the BPM show, I'd only read what had been said from the pre-release information which wasn't too optimistic. I guess this is yet another option I'm going to have to look at :P
