I used to have an Akai MPD32 and while a sweet piece of HW it was a total crap to map due to it's Vyzex editor. I wanted to have different slots to change samples and loops. Some others for production but it just f* up your workflow and made me hate it.

I'll give it another shot with maschine this holidays and see whats up.

I had the 32 as well... I liked it, but I sold it when I got Maschine... Maschine is that and more. Akai makes great controllers, but until they deconstruct the MPC and come up with hardware/software solution they are losing in my eyes... and the difference with MAschine is that you feel like you're working on hardware... You can do so much on the device without looking at your computer monitor...
