For those wanting to know, Hawtin uses the following at the moment:

-One laptop with Traktor, 2 X1's and an Audio 8 DJ routed into channels 1,2,3 and 4 on a Xone 92.

-Another laptop with Maschine, an Audio 8 DJ and Ableton running. Maschine goes into the microphone section of the Xone 92.

-The Xone 92 sends go into the Maschine Laptop through some Ableton effects and then back into the Xone.

    hi all

Darude uses an eks otus, Macbook pro and the club mixer as far as I can tell from his vids.

Boogie pimps use 2 eks otus, 2 macbook pro's and the clubs 4 channel mixer as far as I tell from their vids.

It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

Hope that all makes sense. Of course its all just personal preference. I am never opposed to trying new things!
    Makes perfect sense bro'!

Loving the tactile feel of a normal mixer too, though I gotta be honest, normal clubs tend to have not that good of a soundsystem that I think the crowd will hear the actual sound superiority of an A&H mixer.

I've been lucky enough to see him many many times over the last 3 years, I've never seen Beardyman on a Kaossilator? (not to say he's never performed with one tho) He actually has many different set ups, but you can always be sure that his set up will revolve around 3 to 4 Kaoss pads, Korg micro synth and a Roland RC-50

Just found this on FK's deep space forum:

First, here is the complete full-blown setup with club-supplied Allen&Heath XOne:92 mixer, Yamaha SPX-990 and Pioneer EFX-1000.

Then what I do when I do not have access to all these pieces of gear I want, such as when playing a very small place, please note that all gear except the mixer is mine and fits in my carry-on luggage.

Reviving an old thread as I think there should be some cool setups out there now 3 years later from when this was started.

Dubfire now using a xone DB4 instead of a xone 92. Also seen him use an F1 although not in the picture.

LOL, I forgot about this thread till zimfella, bought it back from the dead. I have been doing resource, since I wrote this topic and have purchased a few pieces over the years.

The first move I made was getting a S4, in early 2011 as a self/early birthday gift,

Before the S4, I was using a Behringer BCD3000 and two NI X1s,

This worked ok, and was a good portable setup and fit nicely into a small mixer soft case,

Still going back to the idea of a Pro setup, repurchased a Korg Zero4, which I think is the most under-rated mixer and was ahead of its time. In short, it has 4 channels of guitar, line & phono inputs, with 8 independent effects on each channel, 10 effects for all 4 channel with a loop recorder (so technically its a 5th channel you can record a beat and let it play for forever), 11 EQ types, each channel also has audio, digital audio & midi and a 24bit/96KHz asio soundcard with dual firewire ports.

This setup has never left home for gigs, since 99% of the time I just bring my S4.

And my other rig, is the A&H K2, with two X1s & two F1s (one is not pictured). I like this setup as much at my S4, setting can be an issue if I dont room for the five controllers and laptop (on a stand).

(I have a 4 port hub for the NI gear with shorten USB cables and K2 is plugged in directly).
This setup has the wow factor, because all the light up buttons and custom knobs, and most DJs I know, arent using multiple controllers with Traktor.

Enjoy, if you have any questions, ask away.
