If you want a feel that compares to 2 decks and a mixer ,the vci 300 is spot on ,me and my dj partner have been using one for over 18 months now and the itch integration with the controller is spot on.
Easy to set up in the booth ,and for us had been a solid piece of equipment with very few bugs software wise.
Features wise itch is lacking but if you just play 4 to the floor house and techno its perfect,we use a djm 800 and use the effects bank on that if we feel the need..

The 4 midi loop controller looks very interesting and would be my choice to use with traktor,or a allen and heath 4d..

What about the scratching??? Between the S4 and the ITCH, who has the better scratching? Last, do you have to pay to upgrade on the S4 if you don't want LE?

The jog wheels are bigger on the VCI so I imagine it's better for scratching, I've known people to have problems with touch sensitivity on them though.

The S4 comes with a full version of Traktor Pro S4 software and a free upgrade to Traktor Pro 2 when it's released on April 1st.

I picked the vci-100SE over both.

If you really want to do scratching, you will be able to upgrade the S4 to Traktor Scratch Pro 2 - and use control vinyl for 2 of your decks.

Much better for scratching than either the VCI or the S4 platters.

if you big on scratching then dont get a digital controller to do it

at the end of the day there all not that good for it.

you should get the S4, pay for the scratch update and get vinyls for it

this is the part where I get a little confuse... so technically in order to get better scratching on the S4 I will need to use the control vinyl and if I have 2 decks (turntables) I would be able to get the vinyl touch or sound to the scratching or are you referring to the jog wheels getting that vinyl sound on the S4? Not trying to be a pain in the ass... just making sure I'm understanding things.
