I was using a HP envy w7. There are two things diffferent. 1) the video sl plugin for serato is much more stable on OSX operating system on a mac.
    2) hotswapping USB devices on OSX seems to always work...but when on the w7 system I was getting issues.. but this doesnt apply really in a live situation as you probally wont be doing alot of switching.

I work on a pc, and just do music on a mac.
Consoles like xbox 360 is the reason why I dont need a pc to game anymore.
Im not installing a zillion things on my mac, just legit tracktor, serato, ableton.

Getting my os preinstalled on a 512 ssd just made it simpler on a mac.

Most people who are PC hardcore extremists wage their jihad against mac blindly.. and it shows. If I ever decide to get a desktop to make music it will definitely be a pc. but for stability on the road Ill keep my mac laptop

Truth is, they're not.
i also don't like the elitist apple marketing philosophy. it something that put me off getting a mac for a long time. i also don't like the fact that i had to pay 50 bucks for a miniport adapter so i can plug the macbook into the tv!! 50 bucks for something that is probably made in china for about $1 (or less). i kind of see it the same way as a girl paying for a gucci dress or something - you are paying for the brand.

as a guy - and i hope i'm not alone here - i don't want to pay for any brand crap - i pay for quality. it is true macs are very good quality, but i also reckon that part of the extra cost is just for the apple brand. very sad.

    Acer Aspire 3690 Celeron 1,7Ghz 2GB RAM (Originally 1GB), 250Gig HD (Originally 80).

Now rocking a late 2009 13" MBP with 500Gig internal HD, next step is boosting RAM

This is the truth. Everything is alot simpler. And in the hands of a power user, you can cause some serious damage.
