i always give this advice to any new dj that is having trouble beatmatch and knowning where or when to drop a track. Load New Order - Blue Monday on deck 1 and deck 2. The kick drum of this track will let you know right away when you are off beat, practice matching these track together. Once you are on beat you will hear a phase effect and that will let you know the tracks are perfectly matched. Once you get a hang of blue monday mixing in to itself. Try another track with blue monday's intro.
I recommend drinking excessively while listening to those albums you've been meaning to check out until you are blind drunk, at which point start mixing in an aggressive manner, playing nothing but your heaviest tunes.
Dude, you're doing it wrong. Train her to realise it's her fault. :P

to practice my beatmatching heres what ive been doing lately.
i have my desktop running into the aux in on my vci-300. that way i can share speakers on both my laptop and desktop.
anyway what i do is this. while shopping on beatport and listening to my cart, i grab a track in my itch library and beatmatch it to the track being previewed in the beatport player.
it gives me an idea of how my tracks will mix with this new track, it also only gives me about 60 seconds to mix the track in. its good excersize
Baked Chicken | Brown Rice | Asparagus | Apple Juice | Snack Wells | Pretzel Chips | Lots of Water
^^ that is a fucking sweet idea
thanks for all the love doods. good to know it's not just me in the fetal position at the moment. I'd take some time off but I've hardly been playing at all the last 2 weeks so instead I think I'll do the opposite and force myself back into form.
If that doesn't work.. keep your eyes on the buy/sell section ha
