bedroomdj, I would disregard this statement by exokinetic. This is mentioned nowhere in the specs of the DJM 700 and DJM 800 mixers you are considering. In fact, from reading the specs, it appears pretty likely that the low knob is peaking at 70Hz, the mid knob is peaking at 1kHz, and the high knob is peaking at 13 kHz.

I took those numbers and plugged them into my DDM4000 with adjustable frequency points, and guess what, it sounds just like a Pioneer EQ!


Maybe you should research better before you just "assume" that I am wrong.

Pioneer also says theirs is a 3 band "parametric" eq.

That means the high and lows and shelving filters, whereas the mid is a "peak" filter, with adjustable center point and Q factor.


Get you facts straight before you go announcing people as wrong.

Ohh, and this is copy pasted out of the DJM800 manual:

HI................................................ ............... –26 dB to +6 dB (13 kHz)
MID .................................................. ........... –26 dB to +6 dB (1 kHz)

Been waiting, been saving... I guess I might just go for the djm 800 with my oxygen 8 and two tables and go from there. is the sound card in the djm 800 as good as the audio 8?

NEITHER MIXER has a sound card, so you'd need somehting like the Audio8... or u could wait for the Audio10

Xone db looks dope for sure however the 92 and an x1 is more my budget. Asan when u suggest the ddm to u mean for a dj hobbiest or or somthing? I know im bedroomdj but like I said im 22 I dont wana upgrade again until its to the tip top of the line and I want proffesional tools because I learn fast abd am over limitations, especially when I can just save longer for the gangster ish.prolly will get a second x1 down the line or somthing to replace my oxygen.

Do xone 92 costs almost the same price as the db 4 are they completly different, 4 band eq is where its at for mixing all styles of music..?

Not really....

The Xone:92 can be found fairly easily for $1200 US

Whereas the DB4 is more like $2800 US

Thats a big difference.

You can probably "find" each of them for a little cheaper.... but the price difference is still significant.

As far as 4 band EQ being the end all be all of mixing.

It definitely isnt.

It definitely provides more ability for finer tuning on the "tone" of your music, but a properly set 3 band parametric EQ has been THE standard for EPIC DJ sets at festival, concerts, and mega-clubs around the world for decades.

There is nothing wrong with it


Don't get me wrong the DB4 is a SEXY piece of kit. If I wouldn't miss that money so much, one would be mine right now, I really think I could use a lot of the features it has...


But if you are using it for Traktor, then many of the effects are redundant in traktor (although the effects processor in traktor is 41k, and I'm betting the A&H is 48k or 96k, although I haven't looked it up to know for sure...)


Soooooo, if you have a LOT of money... that DB4 is sexxxy.


I don't know if I would buy the DB4 if I had the money... probably still get a Xone:92 and spend the extra money on more live sound equipment...

But I have also thought seriously about a Xone:42 as I cant find anything I absolutely MUST have that isn't on the 42. Its 3 band EQ... but I like where they have them set.


So yeah.... good luck with your decision lol.
