something like a djm 900 without effects section but with sample control maybe? that way they could charge the same price

but who'd buy that over a 900? clubs will rather get the 900 with the effects section for CDJ djs...

At the time of there release the DJM 707/909 were up there with the best battle mixers around, all Pioneer need to do as iron out a few quirks add sample deck, loop recorder controls and hey presto, my perfect battle mixer come true. I'd be gutted if it was another 4 channel chunky lump, the market is flooded with options for 4 channel mixers/controllers already. We haven't seen a good new battle mixer for years.

If it's aimed at taking on the 57sl expect this to be coming in at the £1200 pricing. I wonder how they will handle the included software deal? I guess as it's getting on a bit the 57 is a pretty good deal when you consider the pedigree of that mixer and included SSL. If this new Pio goodness is bundled with TSP2 then you gotta expect the price to reflect that (oh shit).

I think Pioneer think they an have success buy copying the controllers built buy NI. So you have S4=DDJ-T1 and you'll have X1=DJm-T1.

If youlook at most of the big name DJs who use Pioneer and Traktor (latest Photos of Sasha, Carl Cox, Deadmau5) etc they are using DJM900, CDJ2000, Traktor and X1's. Pioneer will bring out something that either sits between or above the CDJs and the mixer.

Logical thought, but the djm name fits in so well with it being a mixer.
