the saga continues;
about 3ish after the agency spoke to them to pass on my thoughts they rang me to say i'd need to do a presentation to prove why i should get the job. no biggie
but
when i touched on the hair the and any possible flexibilty the guy went on a personal attack key phrases
"you look untidy and in my opinion need a damn good cut"
"no one will employ you looking like that"
"it's just plain unprofessional"
he's bald btw...

i said i'd ring back tomorrow, i won't

I have long hair and I WISH something like this happens to file a claim for discrimination. Woman are allowed to have their hair long, why not males? Same thing goes with using sandals or feet exposed, if females can do it, then why not males?

I guess it all depends on your line of work.

Some jobs you must be presentable, I process potential employees before they can interview the Project Manager. If I have two candidates with the same experience and knowledge, one is dress in a suit, well groom and one comes in in sweats and hoody with long hair. I'll be allowing the well dress candidate through and send the other one home.

It isn't discrimination, but the way you dress really says a lot about you.
