Yeah thats pretty much what I figured. Tho I thought the nature of the way libraries were implemented in windows is what caused some of the issues, and from what I knew OSX pretty much entirely got rid of these problems somehow when it shifted from OS9 > OSX.. the specifics of this im not 100% sure on, but I know its not just a lack of shitty programmers. It pretty much completely dropped a lot of its old architecture. Windows decideded not to do that because doing it ment losing backwards compatibility, tho I think that Vista effectively is doing now what OSX did with OS9 .. thus the vista teething problems.
Just talked to the IT guy at work, he seems to think the same thing. OSX due to its base on Unix has a more secure / stable architecture then windows. Also that issues in osx can be fixed far more easily as the system is 'tidier' for example most application issues can be solved by trashing the prefs. Not quite so easy with xp. The problem with OSX is that its kind of in its own little world and doesnt like dealing with a wide range of shit outside its hemisphere, as its more of a closed system due to the fact that apple design everything in a mac system... which is what kind of allows osx to be tider.
I'm not trying to totally bag windows, would be silly as I use it heaps, as its so much more flexible. I find this sort of stuff interesting, and discussion promotes learning and knowledge as opposed to blind fanboy/elitism.

OSX uses dylibs just like Windows uses DLLs. They are still very much in use.

..kinda off topic but since we're on a mac vs. win. battle

now i still use a mac to play out, and i own 2 macbooks and a macbook pro but i also own 2 windows laptops. i get to try out a lot of scenarios on every platform. osx has been the most agreeable so far for me for what i do. general usage tho i'm still a big fan of windows and always have one with me wherever i go. not a fanboy, i just use what works, could careless who makes it.
