I can't believe that there's no way of scratching in your headphones.
Anyone got a DJM800 and can check it out?

But he needs the iPod to continue to play through the mixer...
The ghetto way of doing it will be:
Put iPod on channel 2.
Set cue to channel 2.
connect amp to the mixer via headphone socket
connect headphones to mixer (using a y-splitter) through the master out.
Scratch on channel 1 to your hearts content.
It'll work - but there should be a less ghetto way of doing it!
Why would you play the ipod through the mixer? That's just adding more steps to go wrong. Plug it into the amp.
My solution would be much easier and requires no extra cabling or re-wiring to use the mixer normally afterwards.

As with most bars/clubs that's easier said than done. Amps are all professionally installed in proper racking units. For me to go digging through all their cables, unplugging this and that would be a nightmare. Plus it's all XLR connections and I don't have any adaptors with me, AND it wouldn't fly with the manager.
But cheers
Oh fair, round here I always see a mini mixer between the DJ mixer and the amp with a load of free inputs, purely there so you don't have to fuck about with the DJ mixer.
Why not get the necessary connectors to unplug the master out of the mixer and run the iPod into it (or get a small mixing board to put in between) and remove the mixer and decks from the speakers altogether?
Are you unable to get the necessary connectors for the iPod?
