Yeah thats the one im after, I'd heard that it works only becuase it uses the same drivers as it's bigger brother which is officially certified. Thanks for the mac warning, I am planning to move to mac one day!

    For me, it's about feel.

As good as a lot of midi controllers have gotten (S4, I'm looking at you)…there are a decent number of mixers that just kinda feel right. The xones feel very good to work with, and vestax mixers just feel "right" to me. Midi controllers tend to be lacking in that department…faders aren't as smooth–with just the right level of resistance–EQ Pots tend to feel weird, and the whole thing feels cheaper. It doesn't actually matter…one of the benefits of midi controllers is that they tend to be cheaper to make because you don't have to worry as much about the quality of the electronic components (pots, etc.). But they still don't feel right…mostly. Even my beloved VCM-600–which I still believe is the best controller for DJing with Ableton–kinda feels like it was designed by monkeys. The EQs don't have detents, a lot of the knobs feel cheap, etc.. I think it's one of the best out there, and it still doesn't feel "right" compared to even cheap vestax mixers…and I can't really put my finger on why.

Now…the downside is that mixers are a lot more expensive. There are only a couple that really appeal to me…and they're effing expensive.

And all that being said…I still end up mixing with only controllers most of the time. It's a lot easier to carry around an X1, audio 2, and an LPD8 than it is to replace the LPD8 with a xone. It's also cheaper to replace the lpd8 if it breaks than it would be to fix the xone.

Indeed it only works with Windows, which I happen to have, so no issues.

I love the little beast a lot. The feel is great, functionality is plenty and the effects are actually usefell and add some difference next to the traktor effects.
I love the knobs (no pun intended) and the faders of the mixer. The EQ sound is a little straightforward though, hence why I've been using it as a midi-mixer so far.
