haha..he was extra skinny at the time cause he was running the NY marathon and was promoting at our stations. Kanye...pure dick. I think there needs to be a total break down and re-building of "hip-hop" today. Plenty of old school artists are still releasing albums today, but rarely get any song played anywhere. Hell, EPMD just dropped another album a few weeks ago. Back to the point here: Yes, puff is correct, but it's not just the DJ, it's the entire industry.

There is so much "underground" hip hop out that I can't keep up with it. Yet none of it could be played outside of close friends apt. parties. I actually moved to NY from Michigan to get away from having to play all the same songs every night. Unfortunately, NY is worse as far as same songs being played by DJs at clubs and on radio. I realize now that the midwest is able to take more chances in song selection. I used to think it was the other way around. The music is more readily available here in NY, but won't be played because stakes are higher here and there isn't any room for chances. In other words, the songs have to generate listners(money). I argue with my girl about this every weekend. She hates hearing me listen to my new songs, but loves them after hearing on the radio 3 months later. I could go on for days, but I'm sure i've said too much already.

Fortunately my girl's got taste of her own. If she likes the song, she likes it, if not... too bad.
