I want a peace of software that can recognise real guitars and change it to midi signals... Djing on a real guitar would be fun
*Samsung rv 511, 8gb ram, core i5 processor* *Samsung netbook 2gb ram* *Traktor pro 2* *Traktor s4* *midi fighter spectra* *audio technica ath-m50x* *m audio trigger finger pro* *ableton* *fl studio* and a load of other random bits and pieces.... plus I like bacon yo.

i think you would have to run two laptops as you can get audio to midi converters but i dont know how you would run it into traktor. but hey im not sure so dont quote me on this

I don't really care for all in one controllers, the modular approach is better in my opinion.

A problem with a lot of these recommendations is that they will leave you with little money for the software. No one ever takes that into account.

I'd buy traktor, the soundcard and either a mixer or a controller and then save money up for the other one.

You might be able to get good quality gear for cheaper second hand.
you forgot money for music as well

    Isn't it outside the budget?

Everyone knows you're not a real dj unless you use serato

Well, it's an opinion. Another humble one was that when you make most of your income by playing music, then only you are a pro. But hey, who cares ?

If your view is valid, then I want to add "as a pro", TP2 and Ks4 is an excellent, robust and very, very powerful solution. If you want to take it to the next level, combine it with a send/return ableton and you are in front of an ocean of possible soundwaves. If you want to have fun, add as many controllers as you can handle. But with only the s4, well, you can already do a lot.

Ks4 is expensive. But so were the sl1200s, and the cdjs1000. I don't know anyone who played on these and wanted their competitors

I am glad we have the traktor/serato competition. Thanks to it, every year or so, we have more tools in our hands to have fun with songs and sounds.

Cheer up guys, our controllerism cause is gaining momentum
trying to contribute constructively without offending anyone

    setup: S4, MF, Thinkpad
