1st. make sure keylock is on!
    2. Deck A Drop to 65 bpms Deck B to 130 bpm
    3. Mix during the chorus and echo out after its done
    4. Rinse and Repeat
    This.

And there are TONS of hip hop songs out right now at 70bpm. Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Trina, Drake, etc.

But all jokes aside, considering this is hip hop the easiest way is to baby scratch the song in and slam the crossfader on the 1. Doesn't matter what the BPM change is.

    Worrying about things to much.

All this stuff about FX is all well and good (ive nothing against) it but all it does is mask what is simply 2 different BPMs coming together. Even if it sounds great, its still obvious whats going on.

Nothing beats laborious song selection and learning where in a track is a good place to drop the next track and which track to drop.

You can combine almost any bpms if its done with thought. And thats about song selection.

Done on the right beat going from dance to hiphop is easy with the right tracks and the crowd will just go with it...
Sometimes you just need a track with a great intro... thats why people lazilly go for Fatman Scoop and cue up the "Bass Drop" cus it just gets people going (on a top40 floor).

No amount of advice on freezing stuff will compensate for trying to jam to 2 songs togther that just dont really work... I know thats stating the obvious and yes everyone know it but its often forgotten in the quest for more elaborate ways to FX your way out of a pinch.

    well put Karlos.

Check out Trina - Red Bottoms. I know this isn't really the crowd for that type of music, but that song is 65 bpms and although that's just 130 in half that song still has a hype about it that the crowd can't tell the difference and I can then jump to 70's, 80's BPM and it's an easy transition.

the echo freeze seems to be a really popular option for transitioning songs with really different bpms. anyone know of a way to do an echo freeze with the latest vci100 mapping? i dont think its built into the mapping?
