    From the CDJ800 MKII manual

    TEMPO CONTROL
100 mm high-precision slider coupled with a 0.05 % increment digital display (within a ±10 % range) allows exact control of speed to make tempo adjustments easy and accurate.

    TEMPO CONTROL RANGE
The maximum variable range can be set to two variable ranges: ±10 % and WIDE to facilitate adjustment.

oh! eerrr I thought it was 8% but now you mention it. I guess it would seem feasible for them to be set at 6% and mine at 10% which would account for the huge difference in accuracy as you clearly mentioned. A huge plus for the 1000's then in my book. thanks for clarifying.

I thought I remembered the 1000 had a different precision

turns out it's only more precise if you set it to +-6%. Therefore at +-10% they should feel the same.

@padi: What's the firmware got to do with it? It doesn't change the maths.
